Barbara is an up-and-coming young Dunghutti artist based in Coffs Harbour. She has always enjoyed expressing herself creatively, sketching and doodling in her free time. She is skilled in both digital and traditional mediums, with experience using pencils, markers, paint pens, watercolour paints and gouache painting techniques.
Her late grandmother, Rosina Davis-Quinlin-Boston, is Barbara’s greatest inspiration. She encouraged her to create art from a very young age. Her grandmother’s story-telling techniques left a deep impact on Barbara and she hopes to reach her level of storytelling through art.
Barbara embraces any opportunity to practice her craft, whether it be sketching on a scrap of paper to pass time, or taking a sketchbook to the beach to draw landscapes. She also takes a lot of inspiration from other artists from a wide range of different sources such as social media, pop-culture, video games and animated series. Her goals for the future include learning to use and interact with digital art software and art-sharing platforms.
